Chillaxing....

So, after I decided to chill and have some DP and cheese crackers I decided to apologize for SOME of what I said. Honestly, sure, I get frustrated when I see colleges spending money on sports when they don't even win and we're still spending money on travel and gear. It's probably because I'm not much of a sports person, I just enjoy watching the Sooners beat the Longhorns and any game that the Sooners win....anyway. I will apologize for that portion, but the part about being unfairly treated in debate I will not. I will however apologize for any personal attacks. I just find the grading unfair. Someone commented and said it was only 10%......you must know that when I know I deserved a better grade than a 90% which in turn knocked down my percentage in the class by 6 points, it is highly unfair. I was prepared, I did all the research and background information. All I did was stumble once during my first speech. I'm sorry, but that was just highly uncalled for. Anyway, I'll move on, I could rant and rave all day, but that won't get me anywhere. Ok, Culver-Stockton is a great school, just some things irk me like they do every where else. I could go on and on about how much I can't stand a certain fast food place or the horrid service at a restaurant. But still, it's just opinions.

Anywho, finals are next week, thank goodness. Even though, the only final I'm kinda sorta worried about is my Biology final, which is also the only class that I don't have an A in.....bleh. Oh well, it won't hurt my GPA too awfully bad.
Is it bad that I'm ready to be done with my undergrad and be in law school? 0.0 3 and a half  years.....whatever, gives me time to think about things.

So, when I get home for Thanksgiving I plan on just making yummeh food!!! Enchilada casserole, potato soup with corn bread, and then I'm nominating myself to make chocolate cream pie, and whatever other dessert for Thanksgiving dinner. OHHH I also want to see if grandma froze any blackberries, because Lord knows I didn't get around to it.

Then, I suppose my parents and everyone should meet my boyfriend....he's rather tall..... 6'7 and very handsome :) Hope you guys like him.

Uhm....Yeah.....

Dear Next Friday; COME QUICKLY!!! :)

The End. <3

Ignorance runs rampant through America....and possibly the rest of the world

I've decided that I seriously don't care what anyone thinks and I'm just going to speak my mind. Sure, I know that I'm going to encounter ignorant people anywhere I go, but let's be honest here, when you catch someone actually stealing stuff from you and you call them out on it but they just look at you with a dumb look on their face and say "Oh, this was YOUR money??". Seriously? Give me a break.

Also, this very same person was someone who I very recently got into a shallow debate about human population. Basically the outline of arguments were as follows:

Her:

1. Humans die anyway, so we should kill them off.

2. Over population is killing animals.

3. All the weight of humans will squish the earth.

Me:

1. Scientists are searching for ways to populate the world that were thought to be inhabitable.

2. Trees, animals, and anything else that we might "kill" are completely renewable.

3. The sedation of humans with the intent to kill is unethical and is murder.

Basically, the conversation progressed to her calling me a heartless B*&$@ because I "want to kill the cute little bunnies and kitties" and me just laughing because she thought it was unethical that I would rather kill "kitties" rather than babies and elderly people.

I'll admit, I didn't have the strongest arguments, but I also know, from living in a rual area that the earth is NOT over populated. There are still states in the United States that have an extremely low population density. But, it's the ignorance of humans that make them want to live in the dense population areas for art or a career that will never take off.

Just shut up people and do everyone a favor. The earth is NOT over populated. Stop being paranoid. Idiots.

Peace love and rainbows. <3

Young Padawan you have much to learn of wars and battles

Ok, ok, I know that the title was a little weird, but it's the best I could come up with on short notice. Anyway, it's been a while since I wrote anything, so I figured I'd give a quick update.

First off, I would like to say that I am extremely ticked off at the moment. My debate professor took off 10% just because I stumbled once in my delivery. I had to make up all of my points on the spot because I was second speaker, so I did stumble ONCE because I was trying to figure out what to say. My partner didn't even take up all the time and she got a 96% and she stumbled and they couldn't even hear her because she talked so quietly. You know, I seriously hate people who count 10% off a grade for the sheer reason that they don't like you because you prove them wrong in everything they say. I can't wait to transfer back home. Culver-Stockton needs quality professors and she isn't one of them. She doesn't take into consideration of what the student's needs are she is completely ignorant about anyone's opinions but her own.

Anyway, it's the week before finals, which also means that it's the week before Thanksgiving break. Yay!! :) I can't wait to head home.

So, while I've been hiding back in my dorm away from my blog, Culver won their first football game in 3 years. Amazing, I know. But, I have to agree with Patrick Wilson (another freshman) That the football program at C-SC should be eliminated. First off, they NEVER win. Why would you keep a losing football program in place when you constantly give out full ride scholarships to the athletes that rarely win and NEVER get to play. Yeah, they BENCH all the freshman players in order to give the 5th year seniors time to play in order to "try" to get into the NFL. HAHA! No players from Culver have EVER made it to the NFL and I doubt that they ever will. Sorry, I know a lot of the football players, but I don't mean this offensively. You need to go to a school that will actually let you guys play. Not go to a school in which you constantly lose, and you never get to play. Let the funding from the football team go to something in which we actually win at or do better things in. Such as the theatre department. The theatre department actually puts on amazing plays and musicals that are enjoyable. We could also put the money to more Pillars scholarships or just more scholarships in general for fine arts or anything else making the financial burden of almost 30K a year easier on many students that have a hard time paying the debt of the college's high tuition because it's a private school.

I'll admit, I live in the nicer freshman dorms, Wood Hall. We have air conditioning, carpets, a kitchen, more washers and dryers, and 3 lounges. But what needs to be realized is that the other freshman dorm, Shannon Hall, does NOT have air conditioning. Why should students that are paying 30K a year, same as the other freshman that live in Wood Hall, have to be put into a dorm in which they don't even have air conditioning or carpet? Think back to August, it was HOT and it was MUGGY sure, students in Wood Hall were nice and cool, but the students in Shannon were forced to resort to small fans or to crowd into their lounge ( the only air conditioned room in the dorm) and try and stop the brutal heat. I think  most people will agree that a school that has such a high tuition should be able to provide their students with decent housing that doesn't cause any sort of discomfort within the students. College should be a home away from home and should be comfortable for ALL students.

Sorry, I had a lot to rant about at the moment. Hopefully my next post will be much more light hearted. I'll be thinking on that...

Peace, love and rainbows.
